Starboard Manifest is a polished vision-board app (iOS · Android · web) built by a solo founder using AI without sacrificing product discipline.

Behind the curtain: what it actually takes for a solo founder with minimal coding skills to ship a premium product with AI without shipping a fragile “AI prototype.”

Built by a woman founder in a space so underrepresented a vetted statistic isn’t even available. Estimates US & European women app developers ~25–27% , women founders ~10–12%

The headline

AI can ship fast. It usually can’t ship well without a human quality system. This is a behind-the-scenes look at the system.

TL;DR (30 seconds)

Why I’m sharing this: because the “AI built my app in a weekend” story is everywhere and it’s not the full story. I want to show the less glamorous part: specification, UX decisions, QA, and review. And to show how real Product Design & Management is still needed.

One-line pitch

Founder-led, AI-built, professionally shipped: a manifestation app with a premium UX, strong security discipline, and real testing/QA, built at small-team volume by one founder with AI as the implementation team.

Why you should care (even if you don’t care about manifestation)

This is a story about quality.

Starboard set out to prove a specific point: AI can help a solo founder ship a polished, professional product when the founder holds the spec, standards, and review process.

AI accelerated implementation. Human judgment owned the plan, decisions, UX bar, and quality gates.
